Ambode, Udom for Nigeria Sports Award

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Gabriel Udom are among dignitaries that have been confirmed to grace the 2017 edition of the Nigerian Sports Award slated for tomorrow.

Speaking yesterday after the final meeting of the panel in Lagos, the spokesman for the award, who is also the Executive Director, Unmissable Incentives Limited, Mr. Kayode Idowu, said, “I am very excited to announce that two of our sports loving governors, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and Governor Gabriel Udom have confirmed to be at the event on Friday.”

Mr. Idowu, who stated that the organisers and the award panel were excited that the two governors would be available to grace the occasion, also revealed that several other dignitaries have given their words to grace the prestigious awards ceremony including Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, captains of industry, past and present athletes, who were also present at the last edition.

The 2017 edition of the Nigerian Sports Award ceremony is scheduled to hold tomorrow at the Banquet Hall, Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

This year, a total of 16 categories of the award are at stake, including the Sportsman of the Year Award, Sportswoman of the Year Award, Footballer of the Year Award (Male & Female), Ball Sports Person of the Year Award, Coach of the Year, Team of the Year, Discovery of the Year, Wrestler of the Year, Special Sports Person of the Year, Sports Administrator of the Year, Photo-Journalist of the Year, Journalist of the Year (Radio, TV & Print) and Sports Governor of the Year.
