President Buhari’s health challenge needs spiritual intervention, says cleric

President Muhammadu Buhari

Archbishop of the Lagos province of the African Church, Julius Ogunseye yesterday said that the health of President Muhammadu Buhari needs spiritual intervention even as it was being treated medically.

The cleric who said this at the first Biannual Congress of the state province of the Church with the theme: ‘I Will Do A New Thing,’ noted that medical attention was not enough to address the health issues of the president.

His words: “The health challenge of our president requires both medical and spiritual interventions. The Church is conscious of his advancement in age and is resolved to continue to support him with prayers.

“Nigerians should demonstrate a lot more understanding for the health challenges of President Buhari rather than bombarding him with too many questions on the cost to the nation.”

Ogunseye who applauded the Federal Government’s launch of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERPG) however, lamented the epileptic power supply in the country.

“So many manufacturing industries have had to shut down due to inadequate power supply and inability to cope with the excruciating cost of running generators. The hospital and the health sector is not exempted.

“A good percentage of our Artisans have become Okada Riders while some have taken to crime because there is no power to run their businesses. We want improvements in the supply of power for the benefits of all,” he added.

The cleric also urged governments at all levels to be committed in creating jobs for the unemployed youths in the country to engage them positively.
“The youth as a group is ready to support the success of this administration.

The three tier of the government should stop paying lip service to providing employments. Lets engage them positively and we will definitely succeed in bringing down crime rate in the nation,” he said.
