Members of the central working committee and subcommittees that organized the Olomoro Praise Day festival which held at Owholemu Primary School in the community in Isoko South local government area, Delta State, were charged to eschew hatred and embrace the power of unity.
Bishop Mike Okaro of Soldier of Christ Church Oleh gave the charge at Olomoro community with an exaltation from Genesis 11:1 – 5 (“The Value of Unity”) to members of various committees that worked towards the success of the annual programme.
The clergyman had urged members of the committee to focus on goals of the programme, stressing that Olomoro Praise Day festival was not only for Christians but for all persons within and outside the community.
He noted that the purpose of the praise programme put together in conjunction with Olomoro Christian Association was to thank God and pray to avert crisis within the community and other surrounding communities.
Okaro stressed that other reasons included the prosperity of the land and people, unity and peace of Olomoro and to break the yoke of Satan from the community.
The clergyman admonished the committee members to always look unto God for directive even as no human was perfect. He emphasized that there was power in unity just as there was unity in diversity.
Okaro said “Christians should control their temper as God duels in unity.”
