For not paying their entitlements, police officers of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Special Forces, deployed to states on special assignments are begging the IGP to order their posting back to their base to unite with their families.

Each personnel deployed on the special assignment is officially supposed to be paid N5, 000 as working allowance every week besides his monthly emolument. But the situation has not been so for the officers.

Findings by The Guardian revealed that the personnel in the special operations in January this year, were paid N20, 000 only in May, without reasons advanced for the default by the pay officers.

Many of the officers said they are frustrated with the condition they are made to face, adding that they can’t voice out their feelings due to the conditions of service which they had signed allegiance to during their recruitment into the service.

“I don’t know how you will help us. Since January, we on the IGP Special Forces have been suffering. In January, we were deployed to Southern Kaduna but only got paid the sum of N20, 000 in May.
