Police arrest two suspected kidnappers on Kaduna-Abuja Highway


Kaduna State Police Command has arrested suspected kidnappers operating within the Jere/Katari axis of the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway and Jere-Kagarko Road in Kaduna State.

The suspects, Adamu Lawan , 30 and Aminu Lawan, 25, were said to have been on the wanted list of the police for allegedly terrorising the Kaduna -Abuja Highway before they were apprehended

In a press statement made available to newsmen by the Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO), ASP Aliyu Muhktar, the operatives attached to Operation Absolute Sanity along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway arrested the kidnappers after a shoot-out with the security operatives.

The statement reads: “ On 17/12/2017 at about 21 : 30hrs, IRT operatives attached to Operation Absolute Sanity, along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway arrested two deadly kidnappers on our Wanted List and recovered two AK47 rifles with Serial No 5390 and 25401 respectively and 135 rounds of live ammunition.

“The kidnappers, Adamu Lawan, 30, and Aminu Lawan, 25, were arrested with bullet-wounds, have confessed to several kidnappings along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway and Jere-Kagarko Road, all in Kaduna State. Effort to arrest other members is in progress,” it concluded.
