Lagos Central Mosque gets new chief Imam

A new chief Imam for the Lagos Central Mosque has emerged. He is Sheikh Sulaiman Oluwatoyin Abu who was turbaned last week as the 10th Chief Imam of Lagos State. He succeeds Alhaji Garuba Akinola who died last September.

Abu, a civil servant and graduate of Electrical Engineering, University of Ilorin and also a graduate of Daru-Dawa wal Irshad, Arabic and Islamic College, Isolo, Lagos, was turbaned last Friday by the Ulamas in the mosque led by Chief Mufasir of Lagos, Sheikh Tijani Gbajabiamila and Sheikh Mujitaba Giwa.

The new Chief Imam pledged to consolidate the achievements of the late Akinola.
