Kwankwaso, who alleged that President Buhari orchestrated the plan that led to the eventual removal of the state APC chairman, insisted on immediate restoration of the duly elected leadership, as the only basis for harmony.
Addressing journalists in Kano, Kwankwaso, who spoke through his former commissioner and ally, Alhaji Aminu Abdulsalam, maintained that the Kwankwasiyya group would not tolerate “the flagrant disregard of APC rules and regulations”.
Kwankwaso spoke following a letter by the national secretary of APC confirming Engr. Basie Yahaya Karats as acting APC chairman in Kano.
Karats, who is the preferred candidate of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, took over from Prince Abdullahi Abbas, who resigned his appointment few days ago and was subsequently appointed a commissioner.
Kwankwaso added: "We are aware of the plan directed by President Buhari through his assistant on broadcast media, Ibrahim Shaaba Sharada, and others, to remove our duly elected chairman, Haruna Umar Doguwa, without due recourse to the party’s constitution.
"This, we reject in totality and we say it wouldn’t be accepted. We want to say the National Working Committee did not meet to consider any issue of that nature and as such it will not stand.
