Jonathan’s kinsmen laud Dickson on achievements

Governor Seriake Dickson

Political leaders and key stakeholders from former President Jonathan Goodluck’s Ogbia Local Government Area have affirmed their unalloyed support for Governor Seriake Dickson.

The leaders, who met in Yenagoa yesterday, under the aegis of Ogbia Restoration Caucus (ORC), described the governor as an uncommon leader who had done so much for the people of Ogbia and the state in general.

The Jonathan’s kinsmen, who therefore, passed a vote of confidence on Dickson, said they ‎had been following with keen interest the activities and programmes of the governor which had given them a pride of place in the state.

Chairman of the caucus, Chief George Eto Okirinya, who noted that the intervention of Dickson in providing funds for the Ogbia/Nembe Road has allowed Ogbia people to have easy access to most of their communities, said they were aware of plans by the governor, beginning from next year, to construct all internal roads in their local council.

He said:‎ “ Right from his time as deputy governor, governor, vice president, acting president and president, we recall that Governor Dickson was one of the few forces that worked behind the scene providing the needed support and encouraging Jonathan to succeed.

“Also, we are aware of the role Dickson played at the national level of the PDP and because of his meritorious performance as chairman of the party’s reconciliation committee, he was re-appointed to do the same job after the last national convention.

“He has so far provided uncommon leadership and political sagacity which have qualified him to be a true and accomplished party man galvanising support for the leadership of the PDP for stability ahead of the next general elections.”He, however, called for more support for the governor ‎to enable him complete the reconstruction of the Ikoli and Imiringi bridge and other projects.
