Fraudster defrauds businesswoman of N50, 000 In Delta

A Fifty-two years-old businesswoman in Asaba, Delta State, Rosemary Ejeh, yesterday lost N50, 000 to a fraudster, whose name could not be identified at the time of this report, when at one of the Automated teller Machine (ATMs) in a new generation banks along Nnebisi road, Asaba, she requested his assistance in transferring the sum of N50, 000 to her customer.

It was gathered that unknown to the woman, the suspect first allegedly transferred N50, 000 into his account and told her there was no network to complete the transaction, shortly before he fled the scene. 

Bank security operatives told The Guardian on condition of anonymity that they had on several occasions, wanted members of the public to be careful of those they seek assistance from while in the bank for any transaction.

Ejeh said: “I was confused at the ATM stand and requested the help of somebody who transferred the money into his own account, unknown to me, and he said there was no network and disappeared.”

She added the incident was reported to the Police, who were are on the trail of the suspect.
