Imohimi Edgal

The Lagos State Police Command has re-arrested three out of five suspected cult members recently released from prisons. The command also declared manhunt for two others on the run.

Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Imohimi Edgal, who made the revelation yesterday during a security meeting with traditional rulers at the palace of Oba of Ikorodu, Oba Abdulkabir Adewale Shotobi, said the suspects were released in a circumstance that was embarrassing to the security system in the state.

He said: “Immediately they were released, I put them on my watch list and started investigation into the circumstance that led to their release. Today, I am very happy to announce to you that I have rearrested three of them. Two are on the run, but, in a couple of days, they would be arrested. They are dangerous persons who can cause havoc in the community. That is why all hands must be on deck to apprehend them and send them back to where they belong, and that is the prisons.”

In his response, Oba Shotobi said Edgal’s visits to Ikorodu have been helpful as crime rate has reduced drastically in Ikorodu.“We would cooperate with you to fight to standstill the hoodlums who claim that they are Badoo cult group. We will do our best to keep our community safe”.
