Osinbajo, Dogara, Ambode, others for Christian Conscience yearly lecture

The Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, will on Thursday, November 23, lead other government functionaries to attend the yearly lecture on Religion and Corruption: Strategic Direction In Fighting Corruption In Nigeria.

It is being organised by the Christian Conscience Group, a non-governmental and non-denominational pressure group.

Dogara is also expected to present a keynote address at the event, while Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode will be special guest of honour. Wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo is expected as mother of the day.

The yearly lecture, which holds at the Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa Ikeja, Lagos, at 10am will be delivered by Bishop of the Anglican Communion and Vice Chancellor, Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Professor Dapo Asaju.

Also, the former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili and the Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Abdul-Hakeem Abdul Lateef will lead a panel of discussants from the public and private sectors.

National Chairman of the group, Enock Ajiboso, said: “The topic was carefully chosen to sensitise Nigerians on the need to join hands with the President Muhammadu Buhari government to dissuade people from accumulating unnecessary wealth, which is the major force for corruption in the country.”
