Super Eagles’ forward Odion Igahalo and goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezinwa believe the existing harmony and team sprit prevailing in the team’s camp will lead Nigeria to success at the Russia 2018 World Cup.

Speaking in Lagos yesterday, Ighalo noted that the victory against Argentina in the international friendly was a sign that the Super Eagles were not going to Russia for a tea party, while revealing that he was training hard to be on top form for the hostilities in Russia.

The former Watford of England star disclosed that the resilience and commitment displayed by the Super Eagles during the World Cup qualifying series would be re-enacted at the Copa du Mundo.

“The Eagles have all it takes to excel in Russia. We have a determined team that is ready for any challenge. Beating Argentina is enough motivation to spur the Eagles to keep fighting hard to be among the best. Also I would like people to note that I am still playing in China,” he said.

Ighalo dismissed the rumour that he was planning to jettison the Chinese Super League for a return to the English Premiership in January, saying he was happy with life in China.

Also speaking on the World Cup, Goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezinwa said his mission is to work hard to earn the number one position in the team going to Russia, adding that he is not perturbed by the stiff competition among the goalkeepers.

“Every game I play gives me more experience to forge on. Being a home-based goalkeeper in the Eagles does not pose any challenge to be.
The current Eagles squad is built round discipline and respect.

“My target now is to prepare hard for CHAN because the tournament would be another avenue for me to work on my reflexes ahead of the World Cup. I am not under any form of pressure,” he said.
