Governors felicitate with Muslims on Mawlud Nabiyy

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has felicitated with Muslims in the country, as they join faithful worldwide to mark Mawlud Nabiyy today.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Adedayo Adeneye, the governor urged Muslims to use the occasion, which is the celebration of the birth of Prophet Mohammed, to reflect on the ideals of the prophet.

“The teachings of Prophet Mohammed centred on sobriety, peace, sacrifice and selflessness. These were the ideals he stood for and which, we, as Muslims, should emulate,” he added.

Also, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has assured the people of the state of his administration’s commitment to the security of lives and property.

He used Maulud Nabiyy celebration to thank the Benue people and other Nigerians for their support for the state government on the successful implementation of the Open-Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law.

He urged cattle breeders and farmers in the state to cooperate with security agencies and other relevant organizations saddled with the responsibility of enforcing the law.Meanwhile, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has urged all Muslims to imbibe the spirit of peace, as they mark Mawlud Nabiyy.

Okorocha said this yesterday in Owerri, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, stressing that the country’s unity was paramount.

“As Muslims mark Mawlud Nabiyy, Okorocha calls on Nigerians to love and appreciate one another’s potentials irrespective of where they come from,” the statement reads in part.
