• Launches ‘Adopt an Orphanage Initiative’
A Non-Governmental Organisation, Hope Builders Skill Development and Acquisition Foundation (HBF), has organized skills-acquisition programme for over 2,000 youths across different parts of Nigeria.
The foundation made this known during an enrollment of new participants the training. They were trained in bead making, catering, graphics design, and photography among others.
The Executive Director, Mrs. Folayemisi Adu, said the organisation’s mission is to empower the less-privileged youths and women through scholarships, entrepreneurship, and vocational training”.
Director, Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies, Lagos State University, Prof. Martins Anetekhai, who delivered the keynote address, said “entrepreneurship is the solution to the crumbling economy of the country and that programmes like this should be encouraged by the government and general public”.
HBF also launched the ‘Adopt an Orphanage Initiative’, to offer help and cater for the wellbeing of children in orphanages in the Nigeria.
“The goal is to adopt an orphanage and provide food, quality education, serene shelter and others for the children”.
The initiative was created as a response to urgent needs of orphans and homeless children at St Paulina Missionary Orphanage at Peace Estate, Baruwa, Lagos.
HBF called for partnership and support from the public and government agencies.
