Chief Coach of Lobi Stars FC, Solomon Ogbeide, has assured that his team would pick a continental ticket from the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
According to him, his team will not back off from a good fight, as they will give all they can to attain higher heights.
He made this known in an interview with the a news Agency of Nigeria( NAN) on Monday in Makurdi.
He recalled that Lobi Stars last participated in the continental football show piece on April 10, 2013 and were latter dethroned by Akwa United in the FA Cup finals.
“Maintaining fifth position from 8th on the log on July 16 when we won Remo Stars FC 3-2 with Ezekiel Mbah, Kingsley Edowu and Anthony Okpotu all bagging a brace, is encouraging.
“With 45 points, Lobi Stars is hopeful to move from fifith adrift off the league leaders, Plateau United and two behind second placed MFM.
“We have 10 games to decide the league. The players are equally aware of the fact that we need to step up our game; we are really determined to win and win big, and we will take our chances,” he said.
The coach acknowledged that the league was very much within reach and could measure up.
“Securing wins away from home will be crucial; we expect tough games henceforth because it is getting more critical; I am confident we have all it takes to go for the title.”
