Police raid Adoke house in Okene

Adoke

The Police yesterday raided the country home of the former attorney general of the federation and minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, in Okene, Kogi State.Adoke was minister under the immediate past administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.

It was gathered that the Police team, comprising about 20 officers, arrived at around 3pm with a search warrant and after the search found nothing, asked guards on duty to append their signatures in a form to confirm that they did not take anything away.

A source close to the family said stern-looking policemen from Abuja undertook the search and not men of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), as earlier speculated by some people.

According to the source, the raid was at the instance of the court, saying that nothing incriminating was found in the house, adding: "Yes, some policemen came today (yesterday) with a search warrant. They search the house. They did not find anything, so they gave us the warrant form to sign that they did find anything in the house. “They are not from EFCC; they are policemen with a valid search warrant,”
