Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has commended Nigerian manufacturers for their various efforts in producing quality goods with locally sourced materials in the country.
Speaking in Ososa, Ogun State, Osinbajo, who was accompanied by Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun during the facility tour of a Nigerian company, Rites Food Limited, commended the firm for producing quality products with locally sourced materials that could compete favourably in other parts of the world.
Noting that the investment was a good example of hard work and entrepreneurship, the Acting president added that it is an excellent work, which is expected to be seen in every state in the country.
He also urged Nigerian entrepreneurs to boost the country’s economic investment, as it would contribute to its economic growth.“This is a classic example of Nigerian spirit of hard work and entrepreneurship. This is excellent work and what we expect in every state,” Osinbajo said.
Managing Director of the company, Mr. Saleem Adegunwa, cited epileptic power supply, high cost of transportation, as factors hindering the effective production in the company.
Adegunwa, while noting that the firm still maintains its standards despite its economic challenges, added that it has also contributed to the nation’s Internally generated revenue.
While appealing to the Federal Government to address power issue, as it would enable local manufacturers solve a major part of the problems affecting them, Adegunwa urged the government to fix bad roads in the country as it leads to high cost of transportation.
Osinbajo, however, allayed the fears of manufacturers on stable power supply, promising that the Federal Government was working at resolving the nagging issue of power.
He expressed satisfaction with the achievements of genuine local investors, with high sense of patriotism and Nigerian spirit of hard work and entrepreneur ship development.
