Nigerian coaches threaten showdown over Imama’s arrest
Secretary General of the association, Solomon Ogbeide yesterday directed the management of Rangers to stop further prosecution of Imama and pay him his entitlement without delay, stressing that the coach did nothing wrong withholding the club’s vehicle since he was sacked without his salaries and other bonuses paid.
“For now, we are satisfied with the reaction of the LMC but in future, we might have no option than to order our members out of the league. Imama is covered for holding on to his official vehicle since he was sacked without his backlog of salaries and other entitlements paid,” the NFCA scribe said.
According to the association, Rangers ought to have cleared Imama’s entitlement after his sack but the club never did.
“This is a young man that won the league, which the club had not won in over 20 years. He was treated with disdain instead of celebrating him. We seriously frown at his arrest but the LMC has assuage our grief with the sanctions meted to Rangers,” Ogbeide said.
