How private varsities tackle challenges of tertiary education

Landmark University

Vice Chancellor, Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State, Professor Aize Obayan, has commended operators of private tertiary institutions for addressing the deficit in admission into tertiary institutions.

Obayan, speaking on Friday at the commencement of the 2017/2018 academic session admission screening exercise, noted that private institutions are not dumping ground for less intelligent students as being insinuated by many.

The exercise, known as Landmark University Scholastic Aptitude Screening (LUSAS), scheduled to hold every Saturday in June, witnessed an impressive turnout of qualified applicants. The V.C added that the exercise was towards identifying qualified and quality prospective students, who would be admitted into the university based on merit.

According to Obayan, the university’s operations are world class, particularly as regards to zero tolerance for unethical academic and moral practices.
