Gaidam Orders Distribution Of Food To The Poor
Governors of Kano and Edo States, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Godwin Obaseki have called on Muslims to pray for the peace, development of the country and speedy recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari, as they observe the Ramadan fast.

In a Ramadan message signed by the Commissioner for Information, Sports and Culture, Muhammad Garba, the governor wished Muslims a spiritually gratifying Ramadan fast.

Obaseki in a broadcast, said the Ramadan period is a significant one in the life of Muslims and Islam, as it represented one of the five Pillars of Islam. He also felt it is a period that called for sober reflection, sacrifice, patience and endurance.

He said: “We have so much to be thankful to Allah for, for he has been merciful and he has preserved us and our nation thus far. Let us use this significant month of Ramadan to continue to pray for our nation, our state, and our President, Muhammadu Buhari”.

Also, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State has ordered the distribution of food items to the 17 council areas.

The Deputy Governor, Abubakar Aliyu, represented by Commissioner of Education, Mohammed Lamin, who supervised the evacuation and distribution of the truck loads of food items, said the gestures would bring succor to citizens during the Ramadan.

Briefing journalists, Lamin said the governor directed that all food donations to the state be distributed to the people, rather than kept in the stores.
