Akwa Ibom To Import 2000 Cows From Mexico
Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has said that his administration will establish a ranch in Uruan area of the state that would accommodate about 2,000 cows to be imported from Mexico.

The governor made this known at the flagg off of an improved cassava stem plantation with the aim of crashing the price of garri, a local food made from cassava tuber.

He said the process of acquiring the cows was underway and his government would ensure fresh milk for Akwa Ibom people as against evaporated milk.




Lagos officials inspect burnt Oba of Lagos’s palace
Some officials from the Lagos State Government on Wednesday inspected the burnt portion of Iga Iduganran, the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, on Lagos Island.
The visit followed a fire that gutted a section of the palace on Tuesday.
A reliable source within the palace disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria correspondent who visited the palace.
The source, who pleaded anonymity, said the officials visited the palace to assess the extent of damage but did not make any comment after the inspection.

Benue Bans Open Grazing Of Cattle

The Benue State House of Assembly on Thursday successfully passed the bill prohibiting Open Rearing and Grazing into law.

The house had on Tuesday received the report of its Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources on the bill to prohibit Open grazing in the State.

The report was presented by the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. James Gbande.
