Muslims and Christians yesterday held a special prayer in Jalingo, Taraba State for the quick recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari who is on medical vacation in the United Kingdom.

They converged on the Jalingo Eid prayer ground to seek God’s intervention in the President’s health. Speaking at the session, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) led by Rev. Baba Yerima, said praying for the well-being of the President is the duty of every “true believer” irrespective of religious affiliation.

He urged the people to always pray for the leaders “because if a leader succeeds his people have succeeded too.” Ustaz Ali Babando, an Islamic cleric, told the congregation that the President was ordained by God to solve the country’s socio-economic and security challenges.

The Secretary, Taraba chapter of Buhari Support Organisation (BSO), Alhaji Sani Tullu, said the group organised the prayer and a rally to support the President’s visionary leadership.
