Japan approves $462,183 for community projects in Nigeria

The government of Japan will today formally sign a contract approving $462,183 to fund six community-based projects in Nigeria.

The contract is under the Japanese Government grant assistance for grassroots human security projects.

John Chukwuma Nwankwo, a Senior Assistant/Special Advisor on General Affairs, Information and Culture said the Ambassador of Japan in Nigeria, Mr. Sadanobu Kusaoke will sign the grant for implementation of the projects with six Non Governmental Organisations (NGO’s) in its Abuja office.

The funds are for agriculture, primary education, infrastructure, vocational training and primary health across Nigeria. Under the GGP scheme, 152 projects with a total of $10,465, 858 have been implemented throughout Nigeria since 1998.


The GGP is designed to provide financial grant assistance to non- profit organisations implementing development projects at the grassroots level.
